LOCAL BUSINESSWOMAN INSPIRED TO CREATE HOLIDAY GREETINGS WITH GLOBAL SIGNIFICANCE

Boston, MA...Randi Bussin, founder and president of Aspire! career coaching firm, is using her personal inspiration as the basis for a unique gift-giving campaign this holiday season.

"I read a fabulous book last summer that made such an impact on me," Bussin explains, "Now I want to share its inspirational message to help my clients go after their own life goals."

The book was "Three Cups of Tea: One Man’s Mission to Fight Terrorism and Build Nations ... One School at a Time" by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin.

In 1993, Mortenson, a professional mountain climber, became exhausted and lost after an attempt to climb Pakistan's K2. While recovering in an impoverished Pakistani village, he observed the children scratching their lessons in the dirt with sticks. The village was so poor that it could not afford the $1-a-day salary to hire a teacher. Immediately recognizing the need for significant social change, Mortenson made it his mission to one day return there to build a school. Overcoming tremendous personal and financial challenges, he kept his promise to the people of that village, but he didn't stop there. As of 2007, Mortenson has established over 61 schools in rural and often volatile regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan, which provide education to over 25,000 children.

In "Three Cups of Tea," Mortenson tells the story, with the help of award-winning journalist Relin, of his incredible accomplishments in a region where Americans are feared and hated. Mortenson continues to spend several months a year in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and is the director of the Central Asia Institute, which promotes and provides community-based education and literacy programs, especially for girls, in remote mountain regions of Central Asia. Through his achievements, Mortenson has become a role model and a special inspiration to the girls in this part of the world.

"Greg saw a need, used his talents, and changed his career path to the benefit of so many," Bussin says, "My hope is that by reading his story, my clients will themselves be inspired to go after their own goals; to get that new job or to seek out that new career."

Bussin has purchased 50 copies of the book to give as holiday gifts to her clients. Proceeds will benefit the Central Asia Institute. To festively package the book, Bussin worked with Gail Smith, founder of Creative Touch Presence in Wellesley, MA.

"We've paired each book with a lovely tea cup, tea bags, and holiday truffles, as well as an information postcard on the Central Asia Institute," Smith says. "We pride ourselves on creating gifts that excite and delight before they are even opened. In the case of Randi's gifts, they will also inspire, and benefit a fantastic international cause."

Director of Marketing Reaches Out for New Location
I approached Randi with specific objectives, including a cross-country relocation, and a relatively short time frame to reach my target. She helped me quickly organize my thoughts and goals into a working plan. Without her, I would have been stalled for months. I would highly recommend utilizing Randi's methodologies.
