Temp-to Hire Trend Strengthens

Corporations in the Boston area are tapping into flexible work arrangements by using temp-to-hire strategies, enabling them to try before they buy. This is being motivated partly by the projected employee shortfall of abut 10 million by 2010.
Robert Lope, VP of Veritude projects that 20 to 25 percent of the workforce to become career temps in the next four to five years. Lopes states that these career temps will be professionals, not just low-level individuals. Professionals can include IT professionals, professional anaylsts in Financial Services and Accounting and HR specialists.
